After I’d eaten at Muro Pizza & Cucina in Santa Croce (photo above) last night close to my hotel, it was still quite early so I decided to walk for a while and enjoy Venice by night. The sun had shone beautifully all day and full moon and stars shone in the clear night sky. A short walk turned into a long one all the way to St Mark’s Square – but partly because I remembered that I had a vaporetto ticket so could just keep walking and get the boat back to San Stae and Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. I got some lovely nighttime photos so here’s an almost wordless post … From Santa Croce via Rialto to St Mark’s and back travelling by boat.
And now nearly home … getting off the vaporetto at San Stae …
A little way along the alley to the hotel …
And how is that for a welcome! The beautiful courtyard of Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo at night …
I did, I did enjoy the night tour, thanks for taking me along!
I’m glad you enjoyed!
Breathtaking! Thanks so much for sharing these! Such a beautiful city!

I’m enjoying sharing! Everything is so beautiful it’s hard to put the camera away 🙂
Lovely lovely ‘atmospheric’ photos … you have the ‘eye’, don’t you!
Thank you, Jo 🙂 I hadn’t done mainly photo posts before but Venice is just the right place to do it.
