It was such a beautiful sunny morning. I couldn’t resist going out for a walk and headed down Twickenham high street towards the river. I went via Corto Italian Deli for a coffee and then from the far end of Church Street, went down on to the riverside and towards Richmond. There was the view (above) across to Eel Pie Island from The Swan pub and then I made my way past Orleans House and on to the towpath that runs along the edge of Marble Hill Park. It had been my intention to follow the River Thames on that side, but I could see the little ferry operating so decided to take it across to Ham and Petersham. Hammerton’s Ferry has been operating since 1908. I think it used to cost an old penny to cross; nowadays it’s £1. I used to do this walk often and thought I really must start doing it again regularly. I’m so lucky to live in this beautiful part of London and one really should make the most of it. Here are my photos, taken with my iPhone6, all the way to Richmond bridge, which I crossed and then got a bus home. I walked 4km.

What a beautiful walk. Enjoy, I am sitting in the Airport waiting for my flight to Frankfurt. Usually I am excited but not today.
Thank you Gerlinde. And no, not a good day to be flying. Such terrible news from Brussels. I hope you have a good trip to Germany though.
