Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2014!

A big thank you to all my readers and followers this year! I really appreciate you taking the time to read my blog and the comments you make. It’s great to know I’m not posting my food and travel adventures into the void! My readership has more than doubled in the past 12 months from an average of 93 views a day to 200 a day now. This is a big encouragement to carry on blogging into the new year. And this, coincidentally, is my 400th post!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 Annual Report for this blog which they sent me today. Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 72,000 times in 2013. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 3 days for that many people to see it.

  1. I always thought of statistics as being a rather ‘dry’ pursuit of the mind … until I put them into context just now, with what you wrote above. What it all boils down to is that … we enjoy reading your posts! Keep them coming! And all the very very best for the new year!

    1. Many thanks Jo. I have to say I quite like the stats page but I guess the point is although I love the actual writing of the blog if no one read it then it might not seem worthwhile. I’m glad you enjoy it – as I do yours! – and there are definitely plans afoot for more posts to come. A very happy new year to you and your family!! x
